Dr Klaus Deininger is a lead economist at the World Bank. He studies what changes in a country once it is recorded who may use which land. Well-registered land is not an administrative detail. It can serve as collateral for a loan, it allows a government to respond faster after a disaster and it might remove common sources of conflict. Moderator: Prof Mr Dr Ir Jaap Zevenbergen (ITC)
